ARHA Awards Program
ARHA's point system provides awards ranging from the Register of Merit to the coveted Super Ranch Horse Award, the highest honor awarded. The award is tabulated per division, which is one horse/one rider unit for Amateur & Youth and on the horse for Open. Depending on your placing and the number of entries, you can earn points simply by exhibiting your Ranch Horse at approved shows and events.
LIFETIME AWARDS
REGISTER OF MERIT (ROM)
Open Division points are
tabulated on the horse and Amateur and Youth Horse/Rider Units are awarded a
Register of Merit when they have earned 75 points in an individual event.
It is possible for a horse, Amateur unit or Youth unit Open Divisions to earn multiple ROM awards by competing in a variety of events. Once a ROM is earned in an event, you cannot receive a second one in the same event. Points will be accumulated annually until title is earned.
ARHA CHAMPION
This title is awarded to horses that have
earned a total of 225 points in 5 or more shows under 5 or more judges with
an ROM in conformation and 2 ROM's in a performance class in any one
division. Points will be accumulated annually until title is earned.
RANCH HORSE CHAMPION
This title is awarded to Open
Division on the horse, Amateur/Youth units that have earned an ROM in
conformation, an ROM in a non-cattle performance event, and an ROM in a
cattle event for a total of 225 points. Points will be accumulated annually
until title is earned.
SUPERIOR EVENT HORSE
This title is awarded to Open
Division on the horse, Amateur/Youth units have earned a 200 Points in any
one ARHA point earning class. Points will be accumulated annually until
title is earned.
CERTIFICATE OF SUPERIOR ABILITY
This title is awarded to
Open Division on the horse, Amateur/Youth units that have earned 500 points
in a conformation, performance or cattle event. Points will be accumulated
annually until title is earned.
GOLD MEDALLION AWARD
This title is awarded to Open
Division on the horse, Amateur/Youth units that have earned 1000 points in a
conformation, performance or cattle event. Points will be accumulated
annually until title is earned.
PERFORMANCE VERSATILITY AWARD
This title is awarded to a
horse that have earned five (5) ROM in in five events, with one in a
conformation class, and at least one ROM in a cattle event. Points must be
in the same division with points in open being tabulated on the horse, and
in amateur and youth on the horse/rider combination. Points will be
accumulated annually until title is earned. Horses and Horse/Rider units
earning this award will be presented an appropriate trophy or plaque to the
owner of the said horse at the Annual Awards Banquet.
SUPERIOR RANCH HORSE
This is the most superior award in
ARHA. This title is awarded to Open Division on the horse, Amateur/Youth
units that have earned a Superior Event Title in each of the following 7
events: Conformation, Ranch Riding, Ranch Cutting, Ranch Trail Ranch Roping,
Ranch Reining, Working Ranch Horse. Points will be accumulated annually
until title is earned.

YEAR END AWARDS
RANCH HORSE OF THE YEAR
- ARHA shall award Ranch Horse Of
The Year titles on an annual basis to the horse earning the most points
in each class/division
during the calendar year providing that the winning Honor Roll Horse earns a minimum of 25 points at a minimum of two separate
shows that are earned in the said event. Should there be a tie, it will be broken by whom ever has the most first places; followed
by number of shows shown at. - Ranch Horse Of The Year titles
will be awarded to each Open, Amateur, and Youth class category (with
the exception of Conformation.
Should all three (3) Categories be offered during the year at shows the categories will be combined with titles presented in category B)
and performance class listed (excluding Junior & Senior horse separations). - The Association will present the Ranch Horse Of The Year Awards at the Annual ARHA Awards Banquet.
- Forfeited prizes will become property of ARHA if not received by the deadline date.
ELIGIBILITY FOR RANCH HORSE OF THE YEAR AWARD
- Exhibitor must be a current member in good standing with ARHA.
- The horse must be registered (Certificate OF Eligibility) with ARHA.
- All eligible class Points earned at any ARHA Approved Show will count for the High Point Award.
- Divisions will not be combined for the Ranch Horse Of The Year Award. Amateur, Youth and Novice classes are tabulated on horse/rider combination. Open is tabulated on the horse.
ARHA NATIONAL YEAR END HIGH POINT AWARD
- A Year-End All-Around Award
and Reserve All-Around Award will be given to the winner in the open
division, amateur, youth,
Novice Amateur and Novice Youth divisions with any one horse in their respective division earning the most points in conformation, Points are tabulated in Open on horses. Amateur, Youth and Novice on are Horse/Rider combination. Performance and cattle classes at ARHA approved shows. - Points must be earned in at least one cattle event category
- High Point/Reserve High Point Awards are not redeemable for cash or exchange
- Awards must be received by the winner at the Awards Banquet.
- Forfeited prizes will become property of ARHA if not received by the deadline date.
NATIONAL TOP FIVE
At the end of the
year, ARHA recognizes the top 5 Overall High Point Novice Youth, Novice
Amateur, Youth 18 & Under, Amateur, and Open division who have earned the
highest number of points.
Points are computed on a yearly calendar basis from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31. An award will be awarded to the overall high point winner in each division. The Top Five winners receive recognition and the award at the ARHA Awards Banquet.
The top 5 Overall High Points in each age division will be published in on Social Media and on the Official Website.
ELIGIBILITY FOR YEAR END HIGH POINT & NATIONAL TOP FIVE
- Exhibitor must be a current member in good standing with ARHA.
- The horse must be registered (Certificate OF Eligibility) with ARHA.
- All eligible class Points earned at any ARHA Approved Show will count for the High Point Award.
- Divisions will not be combined for the Ranch Horse Of The Year Award. Amateur, Youth and Novice classes are tabulated on horse/rider combination. Open is tabulated on the horse.
REGIONAL
HIGH POINT
This program was designed to recognize and promote members
within their region. The Regional High Point Award and Reserve Regional High
Point Award will be calculated by points earned within the said Region shows
from Jan.1 - Dec. 31. The award will be given to the highest point earner in
each Region to five divisions: Youth 18 & Under, Amateur, Open, Novice
Amateur, and Novice Youth Divisions. For the youth, novice, and amateur
division, the award will be tabulated on horse/rider combination. In the
Open Division, the award will be tabulated on the points earned by the
horse. Exhibitors must have shown at a minimum of 2 different charter/region
shows and earned a minimum of 25 points.
- A custom Trophy Buckle for the Region High Point will be given in each Region/Division
- A custom award for the Reserve Regional High will be given in each Region/Division
- The Awards will be presented at the Annual ARHA Awards Banquet.
- Awards are not redeemable for cash and must be received at the Awards Banquet.
- Forfeited prizes will become property of ARHA if not received by the deadline date.
- Points earned from the World Championship Show will not count toward Region High Point.
ELIGIBILITY FOR REGIONAL HIGH POINT
- Exhibitor must be a member in good standing with ARHA.
- The horse must be registered in ARHA's regular registry (Certificate Of Eligibility).
- All eligible points earned within each ARHA Approved Show Region will count for the Regional High Point Award.
- Divisions will not be combined for the Regional High Point High Point Award. Points tabulated in Open on Horses. Amateur, Youth and Novice Division on Horse Rider combination.
